Mali Bain
NextGen Story Founder & CEO
Mali is a former high school teacher with a background working in university, non-profit, and philanthropic settings. She is a family historian, facilitator, and certified Guided Autobiography instructor, with a B.A. (UBC), B.Ed. (SFU), and an M.A. in Adult Learning and Education (UBC). She is also the author of Our Homes on Indigenous Lands: Stories of My Ancestors Across Turtle Island.

Mali worked with her own grandmother to type, scan, organize, edit, design, and eventually publish a family history book. Since the founding of NextGen Story: Custom Publishing, she and the team have helped dozens of families complete life story and family history books. See some examples here.
Shayna Lee
NextGen Story Publishing Manager
With an educational background in communication and applied linguistics, Shayna's work experience as a ghostwriter gave her a deep appreciation for life stories and family history books.
As a publishing manager, Shayna helps to oversee the entire book creation process, from initial consultations to distribution. She is a point of contact for clients as well as editors, designers, and other professionals involved at all stages of publication. Through attentive listening and empathetic guidance, Shayna takes great care in ensuring that ideas are kept consistent and clients' goals are met for their books.
